This team combines frontend, backend, and reliability engineering skills across various projects.Developer Ecosystem: Focused on enhancing the development experience and best practices with external tools, we oversee the core open-source components of the developer ecosystem: the SDK, CLI, and Terraform.Apps Developer Experience: This team is dedicated to making application development on Databricks seamless and enjoyable. We have built an SDK and services tailored for app developers, including our AppKit. Our Codegen sub-team develops tools that ensure apps function perfectly from the start. Role Overview As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer based in Amsterdam, you will transform raw data into a strategic asset for the company. While the DataOps team builds the core infrastructure, this role focuses on developing the analytical framework that supports financial reporting, product forecasting, and go-to-market planning. The position connects technical infrastructure with business leadership, ensuring every department has reliable, self-service access to the data needed for quick decision-making. Your First Year First 3 months: Get to know the current technology stack (GCP, BigQuery, Airbyte, dbt), core business data models, and any data flow challenges. Deliver and refine initial high-priority models for product usage and financial reporting. Work closely with the Data Engineer to align on the new infrastructure roadmap. By 6 months: Build a semantic layer to standardize KPIs across the company. Lay the groundwork for AI-readiness and enable advanced natural language querying. After 1 year: Take full ownership of the company’s data modeling architecture. Ensure it supports AI and machine learning applications. Advise department heads by using data to shape long-term growth and forecasting strategies, while maintaining a governed data environment that gives business users confidence to explore data on their own. Key Responsibilities Data Product Ownership: Manage the full lifecycle of internal data products. Work with stakeholders to turn business questions into technical solutions, choosing the right tools to keep reporting scalable and accessible.
