As a BESS Technician, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar farms, focusing on preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and performing electrical repairs. Your expertise will support our mission to facilitate the transition to the renewable energy grid of the future. Your Responsibilities: Engage with various solar and battery systems, including those from Samsung.Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on utility-scale BESS systems.Implement firmware updates and manage module replacements.Execute hot/cold commissioning processes.Troubleshoot system issues and conduct electrical and mechanical repairs.Perform battery charge and discharge cycles safely.Adhere to all health and safety policies to ensure a zero-incident workplace.Complete routine safety documentation prior to each task, including tailgate meetings and electrical work permits.Follow energization/de-energization procedures and implement lockout/tagout (LOTO) plans.Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.Conduct quality assurance inspections to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.Follow OEM-specific maintenance protocols alongside company standards and industry best practices (e.g., NETA MTS, CSA Z463).Document all work performed digitally on a daily basis.Collaborate effectively within a team environment as well as work independently when necessary.Participate in on-call weekend services on a rotating basis.Provide feedback on issues and contribute to the ongoing development of projects.Be open to working overtime as required. Join Spark Power as a Substation Operator!As a leading partner in the energy sector across North America, Spark Power is seeking a dedicated Substation Operator to enhance our operations in Angleton, TX.In this pivotal role, you will manage critical field-based switching operations, isolate transformers, evaluate relay trips, execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and perform both preventive and corrective maintenance.
