The Lead Sterile Processing Technician at Luminis Health supports department leadership in managing Central Sterile Services. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, helping to maintain proper staffing and providing guidance to staff, students, and volunteers.
Main responsibilities
- Coordinate daily operations by scheduling and assigning tasks to ensure smooth workflow in the department.
- Oversee the case cart assembly process, making sure supplies and instruments match surgeon-specific pick tickets. Responsibilities include assembling and delivering carts on schedule, verifying surgeon and patient identification, processing returns, and handling supply orders.
- Maintain inventory of non-stock items essential for daily operations. Collaborate with Materials Management to address disposable inventory needs for operating room cases and participate in physical inventory counts.
- Assemble and sterilize instruments, trays, utensils, and packs. Provide technical assistance for instrument tray decontamination and sterilization issues.
- Manage distribution of case carts and sterile instruments. Supervise assembly and sterilization of trays and utensils, following established procedures and aseptic techniques.
Location and schedule
This is a full-time evening position located in Annapolis, MD.
