The Director of Accounting and Tax at ib vogt plays a pivotal leadership role in ensuring the financial robustness of the organization while championing excellence across group accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and global tax obligations. As a direct report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will lead a diverse and globally distributed team, upholding the highest standards of accounting and tax accuracy throughout the organization. This role is based in Berlin, operating within a hybrid work model.
- Supervise the integrity of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance with international financial standards, including IFRS and local GAAP, as well as managing all financial administration tasks and consolidation of group entities.
- Guarantee timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end internal and external close processes in collaboration with local accounting teams.
- Oversee external audits and maintain productive relationships with auditors.
- Deliver strategic insights through financial reporting and analysis to support executive decision-making, collaborating closely with senior management and shareholders to align objectives.
- Establish, implement, and uphold robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
- Lead the global tax strategy, ensuring timely, compliant filings and payments across all jurisdictions.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive tax control framework that aligns with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives within accounting and tax functions, including the adoption of modern ERP systems and data-driven reporting tools for enhanced efficiency and transparency.
- Champion change management initiatives within finance and tax, ensuring effective adoption of new systems and processes through clear communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Continuously assess and enhance bookkeeping, accounting, and tax processes, utilizing digital solutions to minimize manual effort and improve data quality and compliance.
- Lead and cultivate a high-performing team of finance and tax professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Implement automation initiatives aimed at streamlining financial operations and enhancing reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with treasury, corporate finance, tax, sales, investment management, legal, and other business units to ensure cohesive financial strategies.
