This position focuses on airfield projects for general aviation and commercial airports across the state and the nation. The role is based primarily on construction sites, offering hands-on involvement in the delivery of airport infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Supervise construction operations at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and other commercial and general aviation airports in Minnesota. Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Work closely with contractors, airport, and airline representatives to address construction challenges and maintain project quality. Conduct on-site inspections, provide technical and safety oversight, and document progress with photographs and reports. Attend pre-construction and progress meetings, deliver status updates, and negotiate change orders as needed. Assist with resolving construction and design issues during project execution. Determine material specifications, coordinate testing, conduct surveys, and measure quantities for payment. Guide and support construction inspectors throughout project phases. Participate in proposal development, estimate project budgets and timelines, and review constructability of project plans while in the office. Role Overview: Airfield Construction Coordinator This seasonal position supports construction activities at MSP, especially during the peak season from April through November. The Construction Coordinator works closely with air traffic control, contractors, and airport tenants to keep operations running smoothly and safely.
