About the Role
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Eyebot, you will spearhead the processes that transition our vision test kiosks from initial assembly to final production. You will play a key role in defining these processes from the ground up, taking charge of both domestic and international assembly operations. Your focus will be on enhancing quality, consistency, and scalability while collaborating closely with our product engineering team to ensure that we deliver market-ready kiosks for customer fulfillment.
This position is vital to our growth. As Eyebot expands, you will have the opportunity to evolve into a leadership role, ultimately managing a team of manufacturing engineers. If you are eager to build foundations and lead the operations that support them, this position is perfect for you.
Responsibilities:
- Enhance manufacturing readiness for our production model.
- Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives in collaboration with mechanical teams.
- Oversee process development and documentation for kiosk assembly and sub-assembly, including testing and inspection protocols.
- Identify and qualify contract manufacturers and suppliers, managing these relationships throughout production ramp-up.
- Establish process control points to uphold critical product specifications and quality standards.
- Leverage production data to drive continuous improvement, analyze process capabilities, identify failures early, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to address engineering and operational challenges as they arise.
- Assess existing components and tooling, identify deficiencies, and make decisions to address them, working directly with sourcing as needed.
- Prepare for a leadership trajectory: as Eyebot grows, you will advance to manage a team of manufacturing engineers, influencing both processes and personnel.
This position is based in our Boston North End or Charlestown offices, requiring 4-5 days per week in the office.
