To support our growth, GAC is currently seeking a Casual Jetty & Terminal Operator based in Bristol to service Bristol and surrounding areas (Avonmouth, Cardiff, Plymouth), with travel expenses covered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain exemplary standards of quality, safety, security, health, and environmental protection by adhering to company and client policies, procedures, and risk assessments. Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, defects, or other safety-related concerns.
- Ensure vessels are correctly moored and aligned with shore loading arms and connections.
- Facilitate safe access for vessels using appropriately rigged gangways, continuously monitoring safety throughout operations.
- Manage the connection and disconnection of loading arms and spool pieces.
- Open and close valves to ensure products are discharged through the correct pipelines into shore tanks as required by the terminal.
- Conduct Ship Shore Checklists and perform routine checks in accordance with ISGOTT to guarantee safe product discharge.
- Monitor for leaks and adjust connections as necessary.
- Perform shore tank dipping.
- Collect samples from ships, cargo lines, shore tanks, and truck bays, testing according to customer specifications.
- Execute line displacements, stripping operations, and pigging operations.
- Accurately document activities and observations throughout the shift.
- Work hours are variable, dictated by shipping and tidal conditions.
