Role Overview The Assistant Controller joins the U.S. Accounting Team in Burlington, MA, reporting to the U.S. Controller. This position focuses on maintaining accurate accounting records and financial reports. The role calls for a strong foundation in accounting principles, careful attention to detail, and the ability to manage several tasks at once. What You Will Do Month-End and Quarter-End Close: Lead closing activities, including posting journal entries and accruals in NetSuite. Internal Controls and Compliance: Strengthen the internal control framework to support SOX compliance and company policies. Tax and Regulatory Filings: Coordinate with internal and external teams to prepare and review tax filings at federal, state, and local levels, and manage complex reporting requirements. Sales and Use Tax: Oversee all aspects of sales tax compliance, from monitoring nexus thresholds to filing returns, handling state inquiries, and managing registrations. Audit Support: Prepare for and support both internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and compliance are in order. Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with Accounts Payable, Billing, HR, Legal, and FP&A to improve workflows. Financial Analysis: Review financial data to spot discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and support special projects with actionable insights. Revenue Recognition: Help review customer contracts for compliance with ASC 606 standards. Process Improvement: Identify and help implement ways to make accounting processes more efficient and effective.
