Axios is expanding its local presence in Chicago, IL and looking for a Local Advertising Account Executive to help build Axios Local from the ground up. This role is designed for those who thrive on creating new business and shaping a local advertising strategy from scratch. The position goes beyond the typical Account Executive job, expect to serve as a foundational revenue leader and the face of Axios in the Chicago market.
What You Will Do
- Build and manage a personal book of business from day one, relying on established relationships with local decision-makers.
- Identify, pitch, and close new local advertisers across sectors such as restaurants, healthcare, legal, real estate, financial services, automotive, and others.
- Develop steady revenue through renewals and long-term partnerships.
- Represent Axios at local events, strengthen community ties, and collaborate with editorial teams to enhance local engagement.
- Maintain a high-volume sales pipeline, with typical deal sizes ranging from $5K to $15K.
- Approach the market with a founder’s mindset, take ownership, try new strategies, and drive momentum in the region.
