Role overview
The Lead Data Scientist, Relevancy Sciences, joins a team focused on building and refining the science behind search and recommendation systems for Kroger’s e-commerce platforms. The team’s work shapes digital experiences for millions of customers, aiming for relevant, personalized, and scalable interactions across Kroger’s digital channels.
What you will do
- Technical leadership and influence: Lead projects in search and recommendation systems, shaping scientific strategy to improve content discovery, relevance, personalization, and decision support. Identify impactful opportunities, clarify technical trade-offs, and guide the team toward practical, scalable solutions. Rapidly prototype and validate new ideas to demonstrate measurable value.
- Develop innovative search and recommender systems: Design and implement machine learning solutions for the grocery retail sector. Drive systems that enhance product discovery and personalization throughout the customer journey. Provide leadership in next-generation personalization, including Generative AI and agent-based approaches.
