This pivotal role encompasses high-power, industrial electrical tasks related to utilities and building infrastructure.Your responsibilities will include validating the compliance of designs, specifications, and installations with NEC, North Carolina codes, and our company’s safety standards. Key responsibilities include:Reviewing and approving single-line diagrams, load studies, and power distribution designs.Validating switchgear, MCCs, transformers, circuit breakers, cabling, and grounding.Verifying motor sizing and protection, including 200 HP motors, VFDs, and starters.Ensuring compliance with NEC, North Carolina electrical codes, and GMP/EHS standards.Leading technical oversight for engineering firms.Identifying design gaps, safety risks, and non-compliance issues.Supporting construction reviews, redlines, and FAT/SAT.Acting as the electrical owner representative for capital and brownfield projects.Requirements:• A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial/utilities electrical engineering.• In-depth knowledge in:o Power distributiono High-voltage and high-power systemso Industrial motors and drives• Experience serving as an Owner’s Engineer.• Strong understanding of NEC regulations.• Relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or GMP manufacturing environments.• Proven ability to manage EPCs, contractors, inspectors, and AHJs.• Comfortable conducting site walks and reviewing as-built installations.Nice to Have:• Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing or clean utility systems.• Background in brownfield capital projects.• Experience in regulated environments (FDA, GMP, EHS).• Exposure to multi-discipline projects (HVAC, piping interfaces).
