ABOUT THE JOB
The Senior Product Sourcing Engineer will be instrumental in driving the strategic development of Anduril’s supply network and managing costs associated with product hardware throughout their lifecycle. This role involves collaboration with suppliers and various internal teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Conduct supplier selection for specific products utilizing our approved supplier list.
- Collaborate with strategic suppliers to expedite product development through activities such as:
- Concept scoping to clarify requirements rapidly.
- Feature trade-offs and trade tables.
- Should-cost and clean sheet modeling.
- Joint design development with clearly defined statements of work.
- Simulation of mechanical and electronic designs.
- Lead in the creation and consolidation of a manufacturing BOM, partnering with Quality and Manufacturing teams to ensure flexible production capabilities.
- Oversee CAPEX management throughout New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Perform value-stream mapping to enhance supply network lead times and flexibility.
- Complete BOM risk assessments, including alternative component sourcing.
- Ensure all component qualifications are finalized prior to production commencement.
- Simplify complexity through commonality optimization and supplier rationalization.
- Direct all cost engineering initiatives to align the bottom-up cost curve with product costs, optimizing total cost of ownership (TCO) throughout the product lifecycle.
- Address ad-hoc cost challenges, such as tariffs, import/export costs, and inflation.
