In this pivotal role, you will serve as a vital link between design and manufacturing teams, ensuring that products are cost-effective, scalable, and maintain high quality from initial concept through to market launch. The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking abilities, extensive engineering knowledge, and a strong enthusiasm for enhancing processes.Lead DFM reviews and provide constructive feedback on product designs to improve manufacturability, lower costs, and reduce defects.Collaborate with diverse teams, including product designers, mechanical engineers, and supply chain specialists, to incorporate DFM principles early in the development phase.Create and implement DFM guidelines, tools, and best practices for the engineering team.Evaluate manufacturing processes, identify bottlenecks, and suggest optimizations using simulation tools and data analytics.Supervise prototyping, testing, and validation to ensure that designs fulfill production standards.Guide junior engineers and nurture a culture of ongoing improvement in design and manufacturing efficiency.Engage with suppliers and vendors to assess materials, tooling, and assembly techniques for feasibility and cost-effectiveness.Stay informed on industry advancements in DFM, including additive manufacturing, automation, and sustainable practices.
