This role is pivotal in shaping the company’s project pipeline from feasibility through to construction readiness, ensuring precision, innovation, and consistency in all technical deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipAct as Deputy to the Executive Director of Planning & Engineering, providing leadership continuity, operational support, and decision-making authority in their absence.Collaborate with the Executive Director of the P&E Division to guide technical and strategic initiatives, ensuring the engineering strategy aligns with corporate and project development objectives.Facilitate communication between Planning & Engineering, Project Development, and Corporate Finance to incorporate site design, permitting, and interconnection requirements into project business cases.Establish and uphold engineering standards, risk assessment frameworks, and quality control protocols across all projects.Project Development & ExecutionSupervise early-stage site evaluations, constraints analyses, and conceptual layouts to inform project viability and site control decisions.Direct permitting strategy and coordination with local, state, and federal agencies (USACE, SHPO, USFWS, and AHJs).Manage consultant teams developing civil, electrical, and environmental studies; ensure deliverables comply with ibV and regulatory standards.Provide insights to Project Development and Corporate Finance on costs, constructability, and technical risks impacting project economics.Governance & OversightMonitor engineering budgets, schedules, and progress across multiple concurrent projects; identify and mitigate risks to scope and timeline.Oversee technical reviews and offer recommendations for executive decision-making and investment committees.Supervise the creation of internal reporting dashboards and process documentation to enhance transparency and accountability.Team & Culture DevelopmentMentor junior and mid-level engineers and planners to foster organizational capability and technical excellence.Cultivate a collaborative, solutions-driven team culture focused on innovation, quality, and accountability.Support workforce planning, recruitment, and training initiatives within the Planning & Engineering Division.
