Green Thumb Industries seeks a Cannabis Harvest Technician for its Danville, Pennsylvania facility. This role is a key part of post-harvest operations, preparing and processing cannabis plants for both flower sales and oil extraction. Success depends on careful attention to detail, consistent adherence to safety protocols, and meeting compliance standards in a regulated environment.
Main responsibilities
- Harvest cannabis plants and complete related tasks, such as cleaning flower rooms between grow cycles, reloading rooms, and handling cannabis waste.
- Apply proper drying techniques to harvested plants.
- Weigh and accurately record post-harvest materials.
- Follow standard operating procedures, verbal directions, and training throughout daily tasks.
Safety and compliance
- Monitor for workplace hazards and report incidents promptly.
- Stay current on department training protocols.
- Follow all safety rules, state regulations, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Adhere to GMP, biosecurity, sanitation, and other quality standards.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain and calibrate tools and equipment as instructed.
- Report or escalate any safety or quality concerns.
Work environment
- Regular physical activity is part of the job, including reaching, grasping, bending, and lifting.
- Standing or sitting for long periods while maintaining focus is required.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently, or up to 100 pounds with help, when handling product.
- Work in temperatures above 85 degrees and humidity up to 70% for extended periods.
- Comfort with working at heights is necessary.
- Adaptability to changing work demands is important.
- Daily exposure to allergens, including cannabis, should be expected.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in the cannabis industry is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
- Must meet all safety and regulatory compliance standards.
