About This Role
We are actively seeking a passionate Software Engineer who has a solid background in building data pipelines and collaborating closely with legal teams. This position is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about the intersection of technology, privacy, and legal compliance. You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and developing backend systems that manage some of the most sensitive data at OpenAI.
This role is based in Dublin, Ireland, and we operate on a hybrid work model, requiring three days in the office each week. We also provide relocation assistance to new hires.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain backend systems that drive privacy and data compliance features across our API products and consumer applications.
- Collaborate with legal advisors and fellow engineers to address court orders and other legal requests, ensuring compliance with rigorous data privacy standards.
- Identify automation opportunities and develop tools that empower other teams to streamline tasks involving customer data.
- Establish and enforce data handling policies and procedures that align with legal and ethical standards, safeguarding user data integrity and confidentiality.
