The Second Cook plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring maintenance and cleanliness of designated areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes. Your responsibilities will include: Maintaining consistent quality standards in food preparation as per client specifications, ensuring safety and sanitation in accordance with Food Safe protocols. Preparing food items for sandwiches including selecting and slicing breads, assembling and wrapping sandwiches, and portioning cold meats and cheeses by hand or machine. Conducting visual inspections of all cold food items for proper color combinations and overall presentation to ensure appeal. Checking and managing the proper storage of food items in refrigerators and freezers to preserve product freshness. Preparing and setting up a comprehensive salad bar for lunch and dinner.
