Join CIMA+ as a Highways Lead – Alberta in our Edmonton office, where we are poised for significant growth in Alberta’s transportation sector. This pivotal leadership role is dedicated to managing intricate highway and transportation infrastructure projects for Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) as well as County clients throughout the province.
As a senior leader within our vibrant Transportation group, you will guide large-scale highway projects from the initial design phase through to construction completion. Your responsibilities will include spearheading business development, nurturing client relationships, and mentoring team members. You will be instrumental in shaping the strategic vision of our highways practice in Edmonton while enhancing CIMA+’s footprint across Alberta and Western Canada.

The Role
- Drive hands-on senior project management across all project phases, encompassing preliminary design, detailed design, tendering, construction administration, and project closeout.
- Lead the management of project scope, timelines, budgets, and quality assurance processes to ensure alignment with client expectations and CIMA+ standards.
- Formulate Project Execution Plans, QA/QC strategies, risk management frameworks, health and safety protocols, and other essential project documentation.
- Review and oversee technical deliverables, including design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and engineering reports to guarantee compliance with TEC and municipal standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across civil, structural, geotechnical, traffic, drainage, and environmental disciplines.
- Act as the primary contact for key clients, fostering strong relationships with TEC, the City of Edmonton, and other municipal stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder engagement initiatives, including Indigenous consultation efforts where applicable.
- Facilitate successful construction delivery through contract administration, change management, claims review, and field coordination.
- Identify and pursue new business avenues; contribute to capture planning, team strategies, and proposal development.
- Support proposal writing, budgeting, scheduling, and client presentations for strategic initiatives.
- Mentor intermediate and junior staff, promoting professional development, technical excellence, and a collaborative team atmosphere.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts within the Transportation group, focusing on the continual enhancement of project delivery practices and business growth strategies.
