Join our exceptional team at a premier Horizon North camp facility, where you will work on a regular rotation of 20 days on and 10 days off, with workdays extending between 10 to 12 hours. Transportation to the site is conveniently provided from a designated pickup point in Edmonton. The Second Cook plays a vital role in supporting kitchen operations, ensuring maintenance and cleanliness of designated areas, tools, equipment, pots, and dishes. This role is considered safety-sensitive and requires drug, alcohol, and fitness-to-work assessments as a condition of employment. Your responsibilities will include: Maintaining consistent quality standards in food preparation as per client specifications, ensuring safety and sanitation in accordance with Food Safe protocols. Preparing food items for sandwiches including selecting and slicing breads, assembling and wrapping sandwiches, and portioning cold meats and cheeses by hand or machine. Conducting visual inspections of all cold food items for proper color combinations and overall presentation to ensure appeal. Checking and managing the proper storage of food items in refrigerators and freezers to preserve product freshness. Preparing and setting up a comprehensive salad bar for lunch and dinner.
