JS Held’s Forensic Engineering practice is on the lookout for a dedicated Professional Engineer to join our Vehicle Accident Reconstruction team in Fort Lauderdale. The perfect candidate will bring a robust background in roadway construction and/or design, with a strong emphasis on drainage installation and modeling (hydrology and hydraulics). It is crucial that candidates also possess experience in roadway maintenance, asphalt paving, traffic signalization, and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT). The ability to evaluate roadway plans, contractual obligations, specifications, and applicable standards is essential, along with a keen eye for identifying physical roadway defects, such as pavement failures, water ponding, edge drop-offs, and deficiencies in temporary traffic control.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct forensic engineering analyses of roadway defects or issues that may contribute to vehicle crashes or incidents.
- Collaborate with clients and team members on cases related to roadway issues connected to vehicle accidents or incidents involving bicycles and pedestrians.
- Examine roadway plans, daily reports, specifications, and other relevant documents pertaining to vehicle accidents or litigation matters.
- Execute field investigations, including surveys and photography.
- Deliver technical findings, analyses, and conclusions in a clear and timely manner, suitable for lay audiences.
- Travel to various locations for fieldwork as necessary.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients and project teams regarding project status and scope.
- Enhance professional expertise through continuing education courses, industry seminars, and active participation in professional organizations.
- Consistently achieve or surpass performance metrics and goals.
