Position Overview: We are seeking a highly proficient UPS Field Service Engineer to leverage extensive knowledge in UPS start-up, testing, and operational procedures. This position entails commissioning, maintenance, and emergency support for power electronics at client locations, primarily across the South Florida region. Key Responsibilities: Conducts design reviews focused on commissioning, prepares test procedures and reports, and supervises on-site testing. Performs preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and field modifications as required. Collaborates with technical support to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance or operational challenges. Assists in the development of Methods of Procedures (MOPs). Reports to a supervisor regarding any unusual issues or developments. Participates in training at company headquarters on testing equipment and system rebuilding. Completes Field Service Reports promptly, providing proactive recommendations to clients. This role is primarily home-based. Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field; 10+ years preferred. Expertise in troubleshooting equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDUs, STSs, etc. Proficient with hand tools and testing equipment for maintenance and repairs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong customer service aptitude. Ability to work independently, demonstrating resourcefulness and initiative. Familiarity with equipment manufacturers’ specifications. Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and performing bending tasks as necessary. Willingness to work nights, weekends, and be on-call as needed. Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software. Prior experience with third-party UPS service providers is a plus. OEM factory training or experience with brands such as Emerson/Liebert/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware/PDI is required. A technical degree (e.g., from DeVry, Lincoln Tech) is advantageous. Military veterans with experience in Electrical/Mechanical systems are highly valued (Navy EMN, ETN, MMNs, Army Power Generation, Air Force Power Production, Coast Guard, etc.). Must possess a clean driving record. Regional travel within South Florida is expected; occasional national travel may be required for emergencies.
