Proactively identify opportunities for optimizing Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full loads to minimize empty miles.Collaborate effectively with customers, terminals, sales teams, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers on pricing, service commitments, and freight shipments.Continuously monitor the daily status of booked loads and maintain communication with terminals, customers, and sales to ensure adherence to planned schedules.Engage daily with supervisors and dispatchers to fulfill operational requirements across various areas, focusing on load procurement and sales.Manage the Daily Westcan Load Sheet efficiently.Negotiate competitive rates, verify adequate insurance coverage, and coordinate with various hired power providers as needed.Serve as a backup for the Backhaul Logistics Solutions Supervisor as required.Step in for the Dispatch Customer Service Representative/Flatbed Coordinator when needed for full load accounts and flatbed operations.Provide support as a backup for the Backhaul Logistics Clerk for full load accounts.Process Hired Power invoices for approval systematically.Work from either the Gore Bay or Sudbury office.Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Summary:As a Bilingual Equipment Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating seamless communication between Central Dispatch and Central Maintenance. Your expertise will ensure that decisions regarding equipment are aligned with operational service needs and maintenance compliance. Acting as an impartial decision maker, you will serve as the primary contact for equipment status updates, service switch tracking, trailer bank management, and equipment relocations. In this position, you will ensure that all equipment is accurately assigned, maintained, monitored, tagged, and documented to uphold safe and efficient linehaul operations.Core Responsibilities:Serve as the main point of contact between Central Dispatch and Central Maintenance to discuss equipment availability and maintenance needs.Evaluate operational demands against maintenance requirements to make neutral, independent decisions regarding equipment allocation with minimal oversight from department managers.Collaborate daily with suppliers in Edmonton and Toronto to guarantee that outbound equipment lineups are completed by equipment type.Maintain operational continuity while ensuring compliance with safety and mechanical maintenance standards.Report conflicts or urgent equipment issues to the on-duty Dispatch Supervisor.Oversee the management of equipment relocations, service switches, and misplaced equipment.Complete late coding in the BK acceptance queue.Support equipment-related operational decisions.Plan proactive repositioning of equipment as needed.Identify inefficiencies and contribute to the development of effective equipment allocation strategies.Compile the daily “super truck” list to ensure equipment is in an available status.Conduct trailer bank counts as required.
