POSITION SUMMARY:As a Quality Control Technician at Electric Supply & Equipment, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of control panel manufacturing. Your main duty will be to ensure that control panels are constructed according to the rigorous safety and performance standards established by Electric Supply & Equipment, our esteemed clients, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and the National Electrical Code (NEC).Note: This role is currently located in Greensboro, NC, but will transition to Burlington, NC in the near future.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspection and CompliancePerform meticulous inspections of control panels throughout their production lifecycle.Ensure adherence to UL508A and NEC standards, focusing on wiring, component selection, and labeling accuracy.Confirm compliance with engineering specifications and safety protocols.Testing and DocumentationDevelop and manage quality programs, including testing procedures and policies.Conduct functional tests on control panels, harnesses, and sub-assemblies to verify operational efficacy.Thoroughly document testing outcomes, including measurements and any discrepancies.Maintain precise records for compliance and auditing purposes.Calibration and VerificationOversee the calibration of testing instruments and maintain a comprehensive calibration log.Ensure all measuring devices comply with UL508A standards.Safety and LabelingEnsure all assemblies are correctly labeled, including safety notices and specifications.Verify the correct implementation of safety interlocks, emergency stops, and grounding on control panels.Collaboration and CommunicationEngage closely with engineers and production teams to address any quality or safety issues swiftly.Collaborate on corrective actions for any identified deviations.Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities for enhancements in the quality control process.Suggest Poka Yoke (mistake-proofing) methods to enhance production efficiency while upholding safety standards.Recommend testing equipment to improve accuracy and efficiency.Knowledge of StandardsStay informed about the latest updates and interpretations of UL508A.Participate in relevant training sessions and workshops.
