Unlike Starlink, which connects homes and businesses, Starshield supports government applications such as earth observation, secure communications, and hosted payloads. Role overview The Lead PCB Designer will launch and guide a new team dedicated to Starshield. This position blends technical leadership with team-building. Responsibilities include recruiting PCB designers, setting the team’s direction, and working closely with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and reliability engineers. The mission: create circuit boards for satellite and ground systems that meet demanding performance and reliability standards. What you will do Build and lead a PCB design team supporting Starshield projects Collaborate with other engineering groups to deliver high-quality circuit boards Mentor and support PCB designers as projects progress Adopt new technologies and methods as Starshield evolves Drive improvements in design quality and efficiency, with attention to reducing layout time SpaceX’s broader mission is to develop technology that enables human life beyond Earth, with a long-term goal of settlement on Mars.
