Role overview The Perception Engineer will contribute to building an AI-powered autonomy stack for environments where GPS and other sensors may be unreliable. This position focuses on designing, training, and deploying advanced vision and multi-sensor perception systems that support navigation, targeting, and automatic target recognition across Mach Industries’ products. The work involves moving research-grade algorithms into practical, real-world applications using deep learning, computer vision, and embedded systems expertise. What you will do Design and improve detection, segmentation, and tracking models (CNN/Transformer) for EO/IR and multi-spectral imagery, working with large-scale datasets and challenging conditions. Build training and evaluation pipelines, including PR/ROC, mAP, latency, and robustness suites; maintain regression testing and model updates based on field data. Optimize models for real-time embedded inference (quantization, pruning, TensorRT, ONNX Runtime), profile CPU/GPU performance, and meet throughput and latency targets on Jetson-class hardware.
