The company aims to remove financial barriers so more people can access essential dental care. Role Overview The payments engineering team at Wellfit is growing. This Senior Software Engineer position focuses on backend and cloud development for payment systems. The role centers on building and maintaining payment infrastructure, integrating new payment methods, and upholding strict security standards. Projects here have a direct impact on how patients and providers manage payments for care. What You Will Do Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET and Azure cloud. Lead payment initiatives, including: Expanding ACH features for practices and recurring billing. Improving card payment processes such as authorization, capture, and settlement. Supporting device-based payment options (for example, Tap to Pay on iOS). Exploring modern payment options like network tokens and bank verification. Apply secure coding practices to protect and log sensitive financial data. Modernize and refactor microservices for better scalability and performance. Work closely with architects, engineers, and product stakeholders to align solutions with business needs. Help address technical debt and build resilient systems that can handle growing transaction volumes. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. At least 4 years of professional experience in software engineering. Strong .NET backend development skills. Experience with cloud development (Azure preferred). Proven ability to integrate external APIs and services. Solid understanding of secure coding practices and compliance for sensitive data. Preferred Qualifications Background in the payments industry (ACH, card processing, settlement, Worldpay integration, etc.). Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems. Experience scaling payment transaction systems for higher throughput.
