As a Pharmacist Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our pharmaceutical services. Your responsibilities will include effectively managing prescription intake, compounding and preparing medications, and ensuring their distribution in both outpatient and inpatient pharmacy services, all while adhering to the hospital's quality and service standards.
You will engage with patients in the inpatient pharmacy unit, handling data entry, managing prescription timers, and verifying medication details, including alternative options when necessary.
Responsibilities also include overseeing the drug preparation process, which involves verifying prescriptions, calculating dosages, mixing, packaging, and labeling medications according to established pharmaceutical standards.
Additionally, you will ensure accuracy by double-checking prepared medications against prescriptions before delivering them to treatment areas, providing critical information on usage, storage, and potential effects of medications to healthcare providers.
Your role will also encompass inventory management, requiring you to check, store, and document supplies received, as well as to conduct regular inventory audits to maintain compliance with pharmaceutical standards.
As part of your duties, you will compile necessary operational reports and participate in quality and safety training to support the hospital's overall performance indicators.
