Job SummaryThe Financial Accountant will oversee the organization's financial accounting and reporting functions, ensuring the preparation of comprehensive financial reports for management, alongside the management of statutory reporting and treasury functions.Key ResponsibilitiesMonth End Financial Reporting Activities:Prepare monthly management accounts including the Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Profit or Loss & other Comprehensive Income, Statement of Cashflow, notes to financial statements, supporting schedules, and other relevant financial documents.Summarize and interpret the current and projected company financial position in accordance with published monthly financial schedules.Maintain general ledgers, including posting month-end journals, conducting GL reviews, and detailing assets and liabilities.Ensure all transactions are accurately captured and maintained in relevant databases.Continuously review expenses, revenues, and other components of the annual budget to assess the organization’s financial position and recommend suitable actions.Regularly review the fixed assets register to ensure entries are accurate and current.Expense/Payables:Ensure timely payment to clients, suppliers, and other third parties in compliance with applicable Service Level Agreements.Transaction Processing: Ensure accurate processing and capturing of all transactions for the company and clients using appropriate accounting codes.Bank/Intercompany Reconciliation:Review all reconciliations of general ledger accounts to applicable sub-ledgers and intercompany accounts.Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations for relevant accounts and promptly clear all reconciling items.Supervise and coordinate all banking activities, ensuring timely banking of cheques and that appropriate cash (both local and foreign) is available to meet company needs.Coordinate the opening of bank accounts as required.Statutory Remittance:Remit all statutory payroll deductions (PAYE and pensions) to the appropriate authorities within the stipulated timeframe.Ensure proper treatment of withholding tax and VAT in accounts, ensuring timely remittances to avoid penalties. Handle all matters relating to tax queries and audits.Budget and Forecasting:Assist in the preparation of annual financial and operational budgets, including supporting documentation and justifications.
