The MRI Technologist I position at Luminis Health involves performing MRI procedures for patients of all ages at inpatient facilities in Annapolis, Bowie, and Lanham, MD. This role requires adherence to established protocols to maintain high imaging quality and ensure patient safety throughout each procedure.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MRI scan sequences, confirm patient demographics and technical details, and check images for clarity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with a specialized medical team to conduct targeted MRI scans, prepare patients for exams, and review relevant reports such as pathology and surgical notes to monitor progress and exam accuracy.
- Observe patient conditions during scans, provide first aid when necessary, and assist physicians during emergencies or adverse reactions.
- Work with the Supervisor to suggest improvements, report concerns, and offer feedback for better patient care, technical quality, and clerical processes.
- Monitor equipment function, report malfunctions to management, and document any issues as required.
- Assist in the clinical training of technologists and students when needed.
- Deliver compassionate care to patients facing physical or mental challenges.
- Manage patient workflow, prioritize cases appropriately, and handle cases that require MR sedation.
- Comply with all legal, regulatory, and policy standards, including MRI safety requirements.
- Perform a range of MRI procedures, from routine to complex, while maintaining safety, quality, and sensitivity to individual patient needs.
