Role Overview: Senior Software Engineer – Windows/Desktop Applications This role focuses on building and maintaining native Windows desktop applications for Speechify. The work centers on ensuring high performance, accessibility, and a seamless user experience across Windows 10 and 11. Key Responsibilities Design, architect, and develop native Windows desktop apps using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and sometimes C++. Set standards for Windows desktop development, emphasizing code structure, performance, memory management, UI responsiveness, compatibility, and maintainability. Lead accessibility efforts by implementing and validating support for accessibility APIs, including Microsoft UI Automation. Ensure UI controls, keyboard navigation, screen-reader support, and usability for people with disabilities. Work closely with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and other teams to define features, UI/UX architecture, and the roadmap for Windows products. Manage the feature lifecycle from idea to release, maintaining quality and reliability in every update.
