Position Overview
Become a pivotal member of Olsson's Transmission and Distribution team and play a crucial role in shaping the future of energy systems. In the role of Associate Design Technician, you will assist in designing powerful substations utilizing MicroStation, Revit, and AutoCAD software, contributing to the infrastructure that energizes our communities. Collaborating closely with seasoned engineers and technicians, you will gain technical expertise while creating precise and comprehensive designs that accommodate future energy needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support computer-aided design (CAD) tasks, including plan production and entry-level design activities under moderate supervision.
- Create detailed drawings for utility transmission and substation projects using MicroStation, Revit, or AutoCAD.
- Assist in the development and revision of plan sheets, layouts, and design models.
- Help update project specifications, conduct design calculations, and ascertain material requirements.
- Work alongside engineers and senior designers to ensure project accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform engineering support functions, including data collection, file maintenance, and documentation of design changes.
- Engage in client meetings and site visits to understand project specifications and design feasibility better.
