Qualifications
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and enhance thermal control systems, including radiators, heaters, insulation, thermal straps, and enclosures for spacecraft and telescopes. Create thermal models and conduct comprehensive thermal analyses (steady-state and transient) across various operational conditions. Execute STOP (Structural, Thermal, Optical Performance) analyses to validate thermal stability and its effect on optical performance. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations to assess thermal, structural, and environmental impacts. Work closely with optics, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure effective thermal integration with imaging, tracking, and sensing subsystems. Define thermal requirements, margins, and verification strategies for both system and subsystem performance. Assist in environmental testing, including thermal vacuum (TVAC), thermal cycling, and validation of thermal models. Contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from concept design and prototyping to testing and production. Engage actively in design reviews (PDR, CDR, etc.) and maintain thorough documentation.
