We are in search of a Quality Assurance Engineer - Hardware to take charge of and develop the quality system for Lightspeed's hardware ecosystem, which includes payment terminals, printers, networking equipment, tablets, and point-of-sale accessories. Your Responsibilities:
Define and maintain the overall quality strategy, including a consistent testing framework, validation stages (quality gates), and acceptance criteria for all hardware products.
Lead structured investigations into hardware failures, perform root cause analysis, identify containment plans, and ensure their execution.
Define and maintain supplier performance tracking as well as inspection plans for incoming stock.
Support the sorting of returns and decisions regarding their disposition.
Publish regular quality dashboards and narrative reports for stakeholders and management.
Contribute to organizational goals within the extended team, even if it involves completing tasks outside your strict area of responsibility.
What You Bring to the Team:
Over 7 years of experience in hardware quality, supplier quality, reliability engineering, or manufacturing quality for devices, peripherals, or accessories.
Hands-on experience in creating test plans, validation protocols, sampling plans, and launch validation stages.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware on-site (networking fundamentals, peripherals, device OS behavior/logs) to isolate likely failure modes and support root cause investigations.
Proven success with root cause processes, CAPA/8D, and supplier management (performance sheets, audits, escalations).
