This role focuses on shaping point-of-sale and accounting experiences that help merchants manage their daily operations. The work centers on iterative design and delivery, with a strong emphasis on usability and impact. What You'll Do Lead design projects independently, running design reviews and collaborative sessions to reach effective solutions. Apply deep UX knowledge and experience with design systems, UI design, and micro-interactions to improve user task flows. Support backend-heavy phases by refining specs, conducting exploratory research, and aligning teams for future design work. Translate abstract ideas into practical, engaging product features. Create systems, workflows, and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and easy to use. Manage UX and UI processes from initial concept through to launch. Use and improve the existing design system to ensure consistency across platforms. Turn research and data insights into actionable design solutions. Build strong relationships and advocate for user needs in partnership with product, engineering, and marketing teams. Investigate and incorporate AI and new technologies to drive new approaches. Act as a positive role model and champion of design excellence within the studio and across Lightspeed. Who Succeeds Here The right person is an experienced Product Designer who works well independently, enjoys proactive collaboration, and has a track record of simplifying complex workflows. A strong sense for identifying value, paired with the ability to work closely with engineers and product managers, is key.
