Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:Design and uphold the formal information schema that details the interrelationships of systems and software lifecycle data, including requirements, design, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and Verification & Validation (V&V). Develop and enforce modeling methodologies to maintain consistency and coherence in data structures, relationships, and design practices across engineering teams. Collaborate with software and systems teams to create and implement data models and templates that encapsulate complex aircraft architectures. Perform in-depth use case analyses with end-users to prioritize features and drive requirements for our internal Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and requirements management application. Serve as the strategic interface between the engineering user community and the internal software developers responsible for our proprietary modeling tools. Basic Success Criteria:Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated expertise in designing information schemas or ontologies, such as Graph schemas, SysML profiles, or specialized SQL/NoSQL structures. Experience with the systems engineering V-model, including familiarity with safety-critical standards like DO-178C, DO-254, and ARP4754A, and their integration with digital data models. Basic programming knowledge in development environments, including writing or reading code in JavaScript, Python, and/or C/C++. A minimum of 5 years of experience developing safety-critical flight systems, software, or complex electronic systems.
About the job
Reliable Robotics builds automated aviation systems aimed at making air transportation safer and more efficient. The team includes engineers from aerospace, robotics, and autonomous vehicle backgrounds, all working to advance aviation technology.
Role overview
The Senior Model-Based Systems Architect will design and develop the company’s internal digital engineering ecosystem. This role involves more than configuring existing tools: the architect will define the formal information schema that connects systems, software, and certification data throughout the organization.
What you will do
- Design and implement a digital engineering framework to support automated aviation systems
- Create and maintain a unified information schema linking systems, software, and certification data
- Collaborate with engineering teams and internal tool developers to ensure integration and smooth data flow
- Establish a scalable, consistent single source of truth for engineering information
