About the Role At Nuro, safety is not merely a checklist; it is the foundation of our innovation. We are in search of a Systems Safety Technical Program Manager (TPM) who can navigate the intersection of functional safety standards, platform integration, and multidisciplinary engineering. Your contributions will be pivotal in delivering a vehicle that earns public trust on every journey. In this capacity, you will oversee the execution of safety programs across hardware, embedded software, and control systems. This involves translating ISO 26262 requirements into actionable strategies, driving the creation of functional safety artifacts from concept through validation, and ensuring our safety case is thorough, traceable, and prepared for audits. About the Work Safety Program Management Lead the comprehensive execution of functional safety workstreams, while coordinating with Controls, Hardware, and Embedded Software teams. Develop and uphold program timelines, risk registers, and interdepartmental dependency maps to guarantee timely delivery of safety milestones. Oversee the tracking and resolution of safety-related action items, open issues, and audit results across the vehicle platform. Functional Safety & Standards Steer the development, review, and upkeep of Functional Safety Requirements (FSRs) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs) in compliance with ISO 26262 standards. Assist with Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and safety goal derivation processes in collaboration with systems safety engineers. Ensure that safety work products are complete, consistent, and compliant with applicable Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) targets (A–D). Platform Integration, Testing & Validation Collaborate with integration and validation teams to establish safety-focused test strategies for platform-level and system-level verification. Monitor coverage of safety requirements through integration testing, including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL).
