This pivotal role offers a unique opportunity to engage in both traditional naval architecture and pioneering autonomous technologies, significantly contributing to advancements in defense innovation.Responsibilities:Oversee the design, development, and analysis of vessel hull forms, arrangements, structures, and mechanical systems for Autonomous Surface Vehicles (ASVs).Collaborate with engineering teams to execute CAD modeling, structural design, component integration, and weight management for optimized vessel performance.Facilitate the integration of autonomous navigation and control systems within vessel designs.Conduct design reviews and brainstorming sessions for innovative vessel concepts, both new and existing.Engage in research to stay abreast of emerging trends in naval architecture, autonomous technology, and defense specifications.Assist in the preparation of documentation, technical writing, and reports for both internal and client use.Mentor and guide engineers to cultivate new technical skills.Establish, implement, and sustain quality assurance systems to ensure the precision and reliability of naval architecture work.Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a closely related discipline.Strong foundational knowledge of core naval architecture principles, including ship design, stability, structures, propulsion, and hydrodynamics.Expertise in CAD software (e.g., Rhino, AutoCAD, NX) and simulation tools (e.g., Orca3D, Star CCM+, GHS, or equivalent).Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams.Physical Requirements:Occasional access to ships, shipyards, or dry docks may be required, which includes climbing ladders or stairs, traversing uneven surfaces, or entering confined spaces.Ability to walk, stand, or navigate project sites or vessels for prolonged periods.
