In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for verifying the structural integrity and safety of our vehicle designs through meticulous analysis, testing, and validation processes. As a technical leader, you will establish best practices, mentor team members, and collaborate across disciplines to harmonize engineering performance with practical constraints. This is a dynamic, hands-on position ideal for an individual early in their procurement career who is eager to develop deep expertise in commodities within the fast-paced aerospace and defense sector.In this role, you will manage the daily purchasing cycle for a wide array of direct materials—ranging from mechanical components and electronics to raw materials—while also handling selected indirect expenditures. This position provides a clear pathway towards commodity ownership, where you will take charge of a specific spend category from initiation to completion, craft supplier strategies, and influence make-or-buy decisions. If your ambition is to transition from a buyer to a strategic sourcing expert, this is the position for you.Your ResponsibilitiesManage purchase orders across both direct and indirect categories, overseeing the entire PO lifecycle from requisition through receipt and payment.Facilitate sourcing events including RFQs, RFPs, and supplier evaluations for mechanical components, electronic hardware, raw materials, and services.Monitor and expedite open orders, maintaining proactive communication with suppliers to address delivery, quality, or documentation issues before they escalate into project complications.Ensure precise procurement data management within our ERP/MRP systems, including part records, lead times, supplier information, and pricing.Analyze spending patterns and supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvements and cost savings.
