This is a hands-on position supporting automation projects from early concept through to operational systems on the production floor. The role centers on turning designs into reliable, safe, and high-performing machinery for advanced aerospace manufacturing. Key responsibilities Collaborate with the Automation Engineer to design and develop automation setups, moving projects from concept to prototype. Create schematics, design, assemble, and wire electrical cabinets, ensuring all work meets Swiss and EU standards. Program and commission PLCs for both production and R&D automation systems. Integrate and program collaborative robots, with a focus on Universal Robots (UR) and Polyscope 5 or similar platforms. Apply machine safety practices in line with Swiss SUVA regulations and the relevant machinery directive. Install, commission, and maintain automated machines and production setups, including those used for rocket motor and pyrotechnic component manufacturing. Troubleshoot faults in electrical and control systems, performing both corrective and preventive maintenance.
