Position Overview:The Claims Analyst is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy of claims processing by validating disputes presented on the Explanation of Benefits (EOB). This role involves entering denied claims into the DMT database, escalating payment variance trends to management, and generating appeals for claims that have been denied or underpaid. Key Responsibilities:Examine denial reasons and verify that coding is accurate, aligning with the specified denial reasons. Collaborate with the Clinical Resource Center (CRC) for clinical consultations or account referrals when necessary.Create appeals based on the specific dispute reason and contract terms relevant to the payor, including online reconsiderations.Adhere to specific payer guidelines for the submission of appeals.Escalate unresolved appeal efforts for resolution.Participate in payer projects as directed.Conduct research on contract terms and compile necessary documentation for appeals, addressing adjudication issues in the Internet-enabled Managed Care System (IMaCS), and refer overpayments to the refund unit.Perform research and make determinations on corrective actions while ensuring proper coding and routing of accounts.Report denial or payment variance trends to the NIC leadership team for further escalation to payors.
