About the job
About Us
Are you ready to revolutionize the world of supply chain logistics? At Gather AI, we are not just developing software; we are at the forefront of a new wave of warehouse intelligence. Our innovative, vision-driven platform harnesses the power of autonomous drones combined with existing equipment to capture real-time data, effectively transforming workflows that have traditionally been manual and prone to errors. This technology enables facilities to operate with increased intelligence, safety, and efficiency, ultimately redefining the standards of 'on-time' and 'in-full' delivery.
If you’re eager to play a pivotal role in changing the landscape of a crucial industry through groundbreaking technology, Gather AI is your destination. We are leading the evolution of robotics, and we invite you to join us in reshaping the global supply chain, one intelligent warehouse at a time.
About the Team
In this role, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software, collaborating closely with our Autonomy and MHE Vision engineering teams to bring advanced systems to fruition. You will partner with hardware designers to validate sensors, work with systems engineers on integrated testing, and have direct access to QA leadership to influence our overall testing strategy.
About the Role
We are seeking a Hardware / Software QA Engineer to take charge of testing at the interface between our physical hardware and software systems. Your responsibilities will include validating sensors, firmware, and software components to ensure seamless end-to-end functionality, thereby addressing a critical quality gap for both our Drone and MHE Vision platforms.
This unique hybrid QA position spans embedded devices, sensor systems, and software stacks. You will engage directly in our Pittsburgh lab with real hardware while also contributing to the quality infrastructure that supports reliable production systems for our clients.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct hardware-software integration tests in our Pittsburgh lab, verifying sensor performance, firmware functionality, and complete data flow from physical devices to the software stack.
- Develop and document repeatable testing procedures for sensor integration and firmware validation applicable to both the Drone and MHE Vision platforms.
- Identify and categorize defects at the hardware-software interface — discerning between hardware faults, firmware bugs, driver issues, and application software errors — and communicate findings to engineering teams.
- Create and maintain hardware-software integration test suites, which include firmware validation, sensor calibration tests, and embedded release regression testing.
- Contribute to cross-platform test infrastructure enhancements.
