toloka-ai, through Mindrift, connects subject-matter experts with project-based work in AI for top technology companies. These projects focus on testing, evaluating, and improving AI systems. This is a project-based contract, not a permanent employment offer.
Role Overview
This freelance research physicist position centers on creating and validating computational physics problems for AI training. Each project brings its own set of requirements. Contributors may:
- Develop original computational physics problems that mirror real research workflows
- Design problems requiring Python programming to solve, using libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, and Sympy
- Ensure problems are computationally intensive and not solvable by hand within a few days or weeks
- Craft problems involving complex reasoning in areas like mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics
- Base problems on genuine research challenges or practical physics applications
- Verify solutions using Python and standard physics simulation libraries
- Document problem statements clearly and provide accurate, validated answers
Who Should Apply
This contract suits physicists with strong Python skills seeking flexible, non-permanent work. Successful contributors typically have:
- A degree in Physics (theoretical, experimental, computational) or a closely related field
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar libraries is helpful
- At least 2 years of professional experience in applied research or teaching
- Background in numerical simulation methods
- Skill in designing problems that reflect real research workflows in physics
- Creative problem-solving across multiple physics domains
- Strong grasp of physics modeling and approximation techniques
- Excellent written English (C1 level or higher)
