About the Role
At OpenAI, we are passionate about pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence while ensuring a safe framework for its application. We are on the lookout for a skilled Software Engineer to enhance our trust and safety capabilities.
In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with our diverse engineering team to architect and implement systems that effectively detect and prevent abuse, enhance user safety, and mitigate risks across our platform. You will play a crucial role in harnessing the vast potential of AI in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Your Responsibilities Include:
Designing, developing, and maintaining robust anti-abuse and content moderation infrastructures to shield end users from harmful behaviors.
Collaborating closely with engineers and researchers to apply both established and innovative AI methodologies to evaluate, monitor, and enhance AI models’ alignment with human values.
Troubleshooting and resolving active incidents on the platform while creating tools and infrastructure that target the root causes of system failures.
You Will Excel in This Role If:
You have experience in building and managing production services within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
You are skilled at diagnosing live issues and swiftly restoring system functionality.
You are passionate about content safety, fraud prevention, or abuse mitigation, or are excited to tackle contemporary AI safety challenges.
You possess proficiency in Python or modern programming languages such as C++, Rust, or Go, with an ability to quickly adapt to Python.
You can navigate the balance between capabilities and risks to safely deploy innovative products and features.
