Sofar Ocean Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Spotter Market Development & Partnerships Intern to help grow the Spotter platform in San Francisco. This internship centers on expanding the platform’s reach by researching target communities, identifying partner organizations, and supporting outreach and co-marketing initiatives. The intern will work alongside the product marketing lead and collaborate with marketing, product, and sales teams to turn research into actionable partnership opportunities and contribute to a scalable go-to-market playbook.
Internship Structure
- Location: San Francisco
- Dates: June 29 to August 21, 2026
- Commitment: Minimum 8 weeks, full-time (40 hours per week)

What You Will Work On
- Research and prioritize partner ecosystems in coastal resilience and marine protected areas (MPAs), building a target list with clear selection criteria.
- Initiate outreach to selected organizations and help move 1–2 partnership discussions forward, which could include event planning, webinars, content sharing, or co-marketing activities.
- Develop partner-facing materials such as proposals, one-pagers, mini case studies, and co-branded concepts tailored to specific groups.
- Document processes and contribute to a user-friendly playbook for future market expansion.
- Additional impactful projects may be discussed during the internship.
Key Responsibilities
- Map organizations, networks, and key decision-makers in coastal resilience and MPAs.
- Build and apply a prioritization framework considering audience fit, reach, impact, and partnership potential.
- Maintain a pipeline of target organizations and track outreach progress.
- Draft and refine outreach messages for different audiences and use cases.
- Support early-stage partnership discussions by preparing materials, taking notes, following up, and outlining next steps.
- Design and update marketing materials tailored to specific audiences.
- Record lessons learned from outreach efforts and provide clear recommendations.
- Create templates and workflows for inclusion in a repeatable playbook.
