Role Overview: Product Lead for Core Platform & AI This role shapes the foundation of the Collective member experience. The Product Lead for Core Platform oversees core infrastructure: the unified task system, dashboard, messaging layer, and shared UI components. These elements support all vertical products at Collective. Reporting directly to the CEO, this person will build a new function from scratch. The role includes integrating AI at the platform layer and setting standards that other product teams will follow. What You Will Do Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Core Platform, including the unified task system, dashboard, messaging infrastructure, and common components that shape every member’s experience. Establish and maintain the System of Record for tasks and communications, ensuring all vertical product teams (Payroll, Accounting, Tax, etc.) deliver a consistent and streamlined member journey. Design the AI integration layer and develop strategies for how AI support interacts with the task framework to proactively assist members, reduce support volume, and resolve issues before human intervention is needed. Set technical standards for task schemas, notification logic, lifecycle states, and component contracts, so vertical teams can build on the platform without disrupting the member experience. Work with Internal Tools and Operations to ensure human-in-the-loop workflows have the visibility, automation, and tools needed to support members efficiently, while moving toward automated solutions where AI can handle the workload.
