About the job
About Us:
At Ambience, we are not just another scribe; we are pioneers in creating an AI intelligence platform that revitalizes the healthcare experience while delivering significant ROI for health systems nationwide.
Our innovative technology allows healthcare providers to concentrate on patient care by alleviating the administrative pressures that distract them from their most crucial responsibilities. We provide real-time, coding-aware documentation and clinical workflow support across various healthcare settings, including ambulatory, emergency, and inpatient environments, serving the most prestigious health systems in North America.
We are dedicated to excellence, demonstrating extreme ownership in developing optimal solutions for our health system partners. Our culture is founded on openness, positivity, and deep thinking, and we hold each other to high standards because we recognize the significance of the challenges we are addressing.
Ambience has been recognized as the top company for enhancing the clinician experience in the KLAS Research Emerging Solutions Top 20 Report, named one of Fast Company’s Next Big Things in Tech, highlighted by Inc. as one of the best AI companies in healthcare, and designated a LinkedIn Top Startup for 2024 and 2025. We are supported by Oak HC/FT, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), OpenAI Startup Fund, and Kleiner Perkins , and we are just getting started.
The Role:
As a pivotal player in our organization, you will manage systems that safeguard patient information across the country's leading health systems, ensuring that trust is built through effective technical controls rather than mere policies. Your responsibilities will include overseeing access control, audit logging, data retention, and the compliance frameworks enabling us to function within the most security-conscious environments.
You will design systems that enforce least-privilege access, develop audit infrastructures capable of withstanding compliance scrutiny, and create data lifecycle pipelines that automatically meet retention obligations. Privacy engineering at Ambience is not merely a compliance requirement; it is a fundamental strategy that allows us to expand into demanding enterprise health systems.
This engineering role is hybrid, requiring presence in our San Francisco office three days a week.
