Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design of high-power electrical assemblies, including DCDC converters, chargers, and motor controllers, from concept to completion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, systems, electrical, safety, and manufacturing engineers, to optimize designs for overall vehicle performance.
- Address electric propulsion design challenges encompassing thermal management, high-voltage electrical isolation, interconnects, shock and vibration resistance, environmental sealing, and electromagnetic interference.
- Execute detailed designs for components such as plastic housings, sheet metal brackets, insulation systems, high voltage connectors, fasteners, and structural supports.
- Perform thorough analyses to ensure designs meet regulatory and performance requirements, utilizing heat transfer, thermal analysis, design for assembly, structural calculations, and failure mode analysis.
- Develop and implement engineering test plans for design validation.
- Create assembly and component drawings and collaborate with suppliers for manufacturing.
- Oversee engineering prototype builds and design validation testing.
