Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design of high-power electrical assemblies, including DC-DC converters, chargers, and motor controllers from concept to completion.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical, systems, electrical, safety, and manufacturing engineers to enhance design performance across the vehicle.
- Tackle electric propulsion design challenges, such as thermal management, high-voltage electrical isolation, shock and vibration resistance, environmental sealing, and electromagnetic interference.
- Oversee the detailed design of components, including plastic housings, sheet metal brackets, insulation systems, high-voltage connectors, fasteners, and structural supports.
- Conduct thorough analysis to ensure designs meet requirements through heat transfer calculations, thermal analysis, assembly design, structural evaluations, and failure mode analysis.
- Develop comprehensive engineering test plans for design validation.
- Create precise assembly and component drawings, coordinating with suppliers for manufacturing.
- Lead prototype builds and validation testing to ensure design functionality and performance.
