About the job
Archer Aviation Inc., based in San Jose, California, develops all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The company focuses on sustainable air mobility, designing aircraft that carry four passengers while minimizing noise.
This team values diverse perspectives and strives for excellence in solving complex aerospace challenges. Archer fosters an inclusive environment where each team member's contributions are recognized and celebrated.
Role overview
The Senior CFD Engineer will focus on aerodynamic design and simulation for fixed-wing eVTOL aircraft. This role centers on using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to advance Archer’s vehicle performance and design.
What you will do
- Conduct aerodynamic design and simulations for Archer eVTOL aircraft using CFD tools
- Optimize aerodynamic shapes for various vehicle components
- Develop and maintain high-fidelity models of the aircraft
- Create high-quality surfaces for Outer Mold Line (OML) definition
- Correlate and validate CFD results with lower-fidelity simulations, flight test data, and wind tunnel experiments
- Support aerodynamic design throughout all phases, from concept to certification
