Position Overview As a Thermal-Hydraulics Engineer at Oklo, you will play a crucial role in understanding the dynamics of fluid flow and heat transfer within nuclear reactors and related systems. This position involves performing detailed engineering analyses of thermal-fluid dynamics, ensuring meticulous documentation of findings, and collaborating closely with design teams. You will be tasked with conducting high-fidelity thermal fluid simulations utilizing commercial CFD tools. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute high-fidelity CFD analyses to assess thermal-hydraulic behavior across reactor cores, vessels, heat exchangers, power conversion systems, and balance of plant operations. Proactively design, model, and analyze thermal hydraulic systems, employing analysis methodologies that instill confidence in design integrity. Conduct engineering analyses covering aspects such as thermal performance, fluid dynamics, safety, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Work collaboratively across functional teams to define design specifications and provide technical insights to agile design teams. Document findings using contemporary tools and methodologies, crafting comprehensive and thoughtful technical reports. Offer constructive technical feedback to rapid iteration design teams.

This position is open for immediate hiring, and the level (Engineer III/Senior) will be based on the candidate's experience. Position Overview As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Oklo, you will be integral to the design of critical hardware that ensures the safe and reliable operation of our advanced fast reactors. Your responsibilities will encompass the technical ownership of large, multi-component weldments and assemblies forming the reactor module within our Aurora powerhouses. This will include components from the reactor vessel to various internal support structures and primary coolant flow elements. You will lead these components from conceptual design through to detailed design and fabrication readiness, ensuring all elements meet performance, manufacturability, industrial code compliance, and integration into Oklo’s broader reactor system. Your role will require extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams, including structural analysts, systems engineers, materials experts, and external design and fabrication partners. This high-responsibility role is at the core of our flagship product.
